More from Wilson's Prom

M takes a 16km solo walk to Oberon Bay while J and kids explore Tidal River. The next day was a visit to Darby River, where tiger snakes abound (only the two boys have avoided encounters with tiger snakes now).

Little Oberon Bay

Not sure where this guy's off to but he doesn't look happy about it.
The dumping shorebreak at Little Oberon Bay

These guys were a classic. They would stand right where this big shorebreak would smash on the sand and let it push them up the beach

Wilson's Promontory

Wilson's Promontory hasn't disappointed! The sun is warm but the wind has ice in it. Fantastic afternoon of exploring and our newly discovered sport of geocaching (look it up).

We'd been keen to see wombats for weeks now but only ever met the wombatus roadkillei species. But at Wilsons Prom, they just wander through our camp.

All the time in the world, but no time for blogging

You'd never have thought so, but we just can't find the time to write the goings on of our travels in these pages. So instead, we will change tact a bit and make these pages a photo journal. After all, a picture tells a thousand words and we already have thousands of pics!

We've added a few features (like the route that we have taken so far), and we'll drop a few of our better or more amusing photos in so you can all see what we are up to.

We left Brisbane on 7th October and spent two months touring what turned out to be a mostly cold and windy New South Wales / ACT. But we've had a great time nonetheless and have had an absolute ball exploring this fantastic country, spending time with each other and meeting new people with stories of their own.

A whole year to explore Oz seemed like oodles of time to us, but after two months in NSW we feel like we hardly stratched the surface. We like to spend at least 4-5 days in one location if we can (packing up can be a real pain), so that means there aren't all that many stops and we inevitably drive past many great places.

So here we are, we'll do our best to add a few pics for each location we stay at............

Six weeks until launch

Six weeks until we hit the road. As is our style we are unprepared and ill equipped.

What we have got ready so far -

The rig.

We are towing a 22ft family caravan with en suite behind a 2002 Toyota Land Cruiser 4.2lt turbo diesel. The little boys will share a bunk and big sister gets one to herself.

Schooling.

We are going to home school the kids (as opposed to distance ed.). Much more on this to come I'm sure.

The house.

Dear friends are going to house sit for us. Yippee. Sorted.

The dog.

There will be tears, but he is going to be in good hands with Auntie M and Uncle J. He may not want to come home.

So they are the big four. The rest...packing, cleaning, deciding which way to go...it'll happen.
